Mwenda Ann

Ann Kananu Mwenda is a Kenyan criminologist, public administrator, and politician who served as the 3rd Governor of Nairobi County from November 16, 2021, until August 25, 2022. She initially entered the city's top executive circle when former Governor Mike Sonko nominated her as Deputy Governor in January 2020. Following Sonko's subsequent impeachment, she took the reins as Acting Governor before officially taking the oath of office as Governor to serve out the remainder of the constitutional term.
