About Chepkirui Kones
Chepkirui Kones is a prominent Kenyan businesswoman and politician who is actively vying for the Bomet County Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Election under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) banner. Born into a highly influential political family in the South Rift region, she is the eldest daughter of the late veteran Cabinet Minister Kipkalya Kones and former Bomet East Member of Parliament Beatrice Kones, and is married to the current Belgut MP, Nelson Koech. Prior to launching her own political bid, she built a career as a private entrepreneur co-running Shovels & Trowels Limited and drove the successful 2017 grassroots campaign that saw her mother elected to Parliament. Today, her senatorial campaign centers heavily on youth empowerment, transparency, and expanded women's inclusion, positioning her as a formidable contender against established local leaders in Bomet.
