Cleophas Malala

Cleophas Malala is a Kenyan politician and award-winning playwright who serves as the Deputy Party Leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP). He rose to national fame by scripting controversial high school plays like Shackles of Doom before transitioning to politics, serving as the Mahiakalo Ward MCA (2013–2017) and Kakamega County Senator (2017–2022). A vocal political strategist, he previously served as the Secretary General of President Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) until his ouster in August 2024. Today, Malala remains a key political figure in Western Kenya, balancing national party mobilization with grassroots youth initiatives like the annual Malala Super Cup.
