Hamisi Kakuta Maimai

Hamisi Kakuta Maimai is a Kenyan politician and dedicated community advocate currently serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kajiado East Constituency, having won the seat in August 2022 under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party. Educated in the United States, he holds a bachelor's degree from The Evergreen State College and a master's degree in Sustainable Development from the SIT Graduate Institute. Before entering national politics, Maimai built a diverse professional portfolio spanning international conservation, cultural advocacy as the Managing Director of the Maasai Association, and public infrastructure leadership as the Chairperson of the Tanathi Waterworks Development Agency. In the 13th Parliament, he balances legislative duties across multiple oversight committees with a grassroots development agenda heavily focused on clean water networks, rural electrification, and expanding educational bursaries for his constituents.
