Hon. Catherine Omanyo

Hon. Catherine Nakhabi Omanyo is a prominent Kenyan legislator, human rights advocate, and educationist currently serving as the Busia County Woman Representative in the 13th Parliament. Born in 1978, she overcame an impoverished upbringing to earn a Bachelor of Education from the University of Nairobi and went on to found the International School for Champions (Imprezza Academy), a tuition-free institution supporting vulnerable orphans. In a major national party re-organization on February 11, 2026, she was appointed as the Acting Secretary General of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM Party), thrusting her into the absolute center of national political management. Representing the entire geographical expanse of Busia County, her legislative agenda within the National Assembly focuses heavily on girls' education, gender-based violence mitigation, youth economic empowerment, and robust oversight of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).
