Hon. Florence Mutua

Hon. Florence Mwikali Mutua, CBS, is a veteran Kenyan legislator, international development practitioner, and human rights advocate who served as the pioneer, two-term Busia County Woman Representative from 2013 to 2022 [nation.africa]. Born in 1968, she holds a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi and built a highly decorated twelve-year career managing operations for UNICEF before entering elective politics. During her tenure in the National Assembly, she served as the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Education, Research, and Technology, and made local history in 2022 as the first woman to contest the Busia County Gubernatorial seat. Having officially announced her return to elective politics for the 2027 general elections, she is actively mounting a grassroots comeback campaign under her signature slogan, "Mama Ni Mmoja," to reclaim her former county-wide parliamentary se
