Irungu Kang'ata

Dr. Francis Irungu Kang'ata is a legal scholar, university law lecturer, and the 2nd Governor of Murang'a County. Holding a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Nairobi, he began his public career in student activism as SONU Vice Chairman before making a rapid rise through Kenya's elective politics—serving sequentially as Central Ward Councillor at age 22, MP for Kiharu Constituency, and Murang'a Senator/Senate Majority Chief Whip. Known for his early work as a pro-bono "poor man's lawyer" and his former background as a reggae DJ, his administration as governor focuses heavily on digitalizing county services, health reforms, and agricultural value addition.
