About Isaac Kiprono Rutto
Hon. Isaac Kiprono Rutto is a highly influential Kenyan politician and the current Vice Chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC). Renowned for his fierce advocacy of devolution and grassroots empowerment, he served as the inaugural Governor of Bomet County (2013–2017) and the first Chairman of the Council of Governors (CoG), positions he used to champion the aggressive allocation of state resources to local communities. Throughout his lengthy career, which includes representing Chepalungu Constituency as a Member of Parliament across two terms, Rutto has established himself as a strategic political force in the South Rift region, steering his own political outfit, Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM), before ultimately aligning with the ruling Kenya Kwanza coalition.
