John Chingi Makhan

John Chingi Makhanu is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Sinyerere Ward in Cherangany Constituency, Trans Nzoia County. As a firm ally of Governor George Natembeya and an advocate for the regional "Tawe Nation" movement, Makhanu centers his leadership on grassroots development, prioritising early childhood education infrastructure and ward-level road networks. His tenure has been marked by strong local alignment with the Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K), surviving political standoffs and legal hurdles, including a brief 2025 arrest during county power struggles that was subsequently dismissed by a Kitale court.
