Lenny Maxwell Kivuti

Lenny Maxwell Kivuti is the party leader of the Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP), popularly known as the "Mbus" party. He took over full leadership of the party after former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi stepped down. Kivuti, a professional geospatial surveyor and veteran politician, previously served as the Member of Parliament for Siakago Constituency (2008–2013) under the Safina Party and later as the first Senator for Embu County (2013–2017) under the Alliance Party of Kenya (APK). Known for his extensive influence in the Mt. Kenya East region, he has utilized the DEP platform to champion devolution, accountable governance, and regional development, while actively positioning himself as a leading contender for the Embu County gubernatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
