Newton Karish

A well-known Mugithi and Benga musician, Karish served multiple terms as MCA for Muminji Ward. A viral poster claimed he would run for Senate on a UDA ticket. However, Karish has since publicly dismissed the poster as "fake" and denied joining UDA, stating he remains with the opposition-aligned Democratic Party. He lost the 2025 Mbeere North parliamentary by-election but remains a political figure in the county .
