About Nick Kiptoo Korir Salat
Nick Kiptoo Korir Salat is a prominent Kenyan politician and the former long-serving Secretary-General of the Kenya African National Union (KANU), a position he held for fifteen years before his high-profile expulsion and subsequent defection to the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in early 2023. Born into a political family on December 17, 1970, as the son of former MP Isaac Kipkorir Salat, he built his own legacy by serving as the Member of Parliament for Bomet Constituency between 2002 and 2007. Known for his vocal presence in Rift Valley and national politics, Salat has firmly realigned himself with President William Ruto's administration and has officially declared his intentions to contest the Bomet County Senatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 General Election.
