Obed Mwale Mahanga

Hon. Obed Mwale Mahanga is a dynamic and articulate Kenyan politician who currently serves as the Deputy Speaker of the Trans Nzoia County Assembly and the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Matisi Ward. A seasoned young leader, his political journey began during his university years when he served as the President of the Maseno University Student Union, a foundation that propelled him into competitive local politics at just 22 years old. Over a decade of leadership in Matisi, he has built a strong reputation as a development-oriented legislator, notably chairing the county's Water, Environment, and Natural Resources Committee. Heavily aligned with Governor George Natembeya’s TAWE Movement and the Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K), Mwale has positioned himself as a key voice for regional political transformation and economic reform as he officially campaigns for the Trans Nzoia County Senatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
