Esther Muthoni Passaris - Women Rep
Esther Passaris is a Kenyan politician, social entrepreneur, and philanthropist. She is the women representative for Nairobi county and a member of the
Orange Democratic Movement Political Party (ODM). Esther ran for a member of parliament for women’s representative for Nairobi County, on the Kenya National Congress political party ticket, but lost to Rachel Shebesh back in 2013. She is regarded as one of the most well-known female public figures in the Kenyan business and politics.

Esther Passaris Early Life
Passaris was born to a Greek father and a Kenyan Kikuyu mother on October 20, 1964, in Mombasa, Kenya. She attended the Aga Khan Academies for her primary and secondary education. Esther enrolled in the Advanced Management Program course at Strathmore Business School, a program that was conducted in December 2006 between Strathmore University and the University of Navarra. Besides having a Diploma in Law from the University of London, she is also a graduate from the United States International University Africa, in Nairobi, with a BSc International Business Administration ( She graduated in October 2017).

Passaris is married to her handsome husband, Pius Mbugua Ngugi. Together they are blessed with two children namely, Makenna Maria and Lefteris Ngugi. According to various reliable sources, Pius is also married to Josephine Wambui Ngugi and together they have four children Angeline, Mbugua, Louise, and Miki. Ngugi is the owner of the Kenya Nut Company, which is arguably East Africa’s largest nut processing company and one of the world’s largest exporters of cashew and macadamia, according to a 2017 Forbes publication.
