Calbenz Okonya Mapale

Hon. Carlbenz Okonya Mapale (popularly known as "Rilobo") is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Bunyala West Ward in Busia County. First elected under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket in the 2022 general elections, he represents his constituents within the Budalang'i constituency in the Third Busia County Assembly. Beyond his legislative roles and local leadership, Mapale gained significant national media attention in September 2023 due to a high-profile criminal case in which he was charged with the defilement of a 14-year-old schoolgirl, a trial that drew widespread public scrutiny after the presiding Port Victoria magistrate recused herself citing security concerns and threats to her life.
