About Okiya Omtatah
Okiya Okoiti Omtatah is a Kenyan lawyer, human rights activist, and politician serving as the Senator for Busia County. Before joining elective politics, he became widely known for using public interest litigation to challenge unconstitutional government actions and defend citizens' rights. Since his election to the Senate in 2022, he has continued to advocate for constitutionalism, accountability, and good governance. Ahead of the 2027 General Election, he has undertaken nationwide consultations through a Presidential Exploratory Committee to assess a possible presidential candidacy and gather citizens' views on national priorities.
